The Scholastic Writing Contest is a prestigious writing competition for students in grades 7-12. The contest is sponsored by the Scholastic Corporation and is one of the largest and most respected writing competitions in the United States.
The Scholastic Writing Contest is open to students in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Students can submit their writing in one of three categories: fiction, nonfiction, or poetry. A panel of judges, composed of experienced educators and writers, evaluates the submissions. The top-scoring entries are awarded prizes, including scholarships, publication in Scholastic magazines, and trips to New York City.
