The Episcopal Lectionary 2025 is a three-year cycle of daily Scripture readings used by the Episcopal Church in the United States. It was developed by the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music (SCLM) and approved by the General Convention in 2018. The new lectionary will be implemented on the First Sunday of Advent, November 30, 2025.
The Episcopal Lectionary 2025 is based on the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL), which is used by many other Christian denominations. However, the Episcopal Lectionary 2025 includes some unique features, such as a greater emphasis on Old Testament readings and a more inclusive selection of readings from the Gospels. The new lectionary also includes a number of new readings from the Apocrypha and the New Testament.
