The Hawkeye football schedule for 2025 has been released, and it features a challenging slate of opponents. The Hawkeyes will open the season at home against Northern Iowa on September 6th, then travel to Ames to face Iowa State on September 13th. They will then host Nevada on September 20th before traveling to Michigan on September 27th. The Hawkeyes will have a bye week on October 4th, then return to action on October 11th against Purdue. They will then travel to Wisconsin on October 18th, host Minnesota on October 25th, and travel to Nebraska on November 1st. The Hawkeyes will close out the regular season at home against Illinois on November 8th.
The Hawkeyes will be looking to improve on their 8-5 record from 2022. They return a number of key players, including quarterback Spencer Petras and running back Gavin Williams. They will also have a new head coach in Matt Rhule. Rhule is a former NFL head coach who has a reputation for turning around struggling programs. He will be looking to do the same at Iowa.
