The Rio de Janeiro Carnival is an annual festival held before Lent and considered the biggest carnival in the world. The first carnival was organized in 1723, reflecting a fusion of Portuguese, African, and Caribbean customs and traditions, characterized by parades, colorful costumes, and lively music.
The 2025 carnival is expected to be even more spectacular, with an estimated 2 million people participating in the parades and over 500 samba schools competing for the championship.
