Presidents Day 2025 will be observed on Monday, February 17th. The holiday commemorates the birthdays of two of the United States’ most famous presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
The holiday was originally established in 1885 as Washington’s Birthday. In 1971, the Uniform Monday Holiday Act moved the holiday to the third Monday in February, and it was renamed Presidents Day in 1976.
