The Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) is a highly selective two-year leadership development program for recent college graduates who have exceptional potential and a strong commitment to public service. The PMF program was created in 1977 by President Jimmy Carter and has since placed over 6,000 fellows in leadership positions across the federal government. The PMF program provides a unique opportunity for fellows to develop their leadership skills, gain valuable hands-on experience, and make a meaningful contribution to the federal government.
PMF fellows are placed in leadership positions in a variety of federal agencies, including the Departments of Defense, Justice, Homeland Security, State, and Treasury. Fellows work on a variety of high-priority projects, such as developing new policies, managing large budgets, and leading teams of employees. The PMF program provides fellows with the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Americans and to help shape the future of the federal government.
